Summer children’s activities @ St Pauls Centre
The Paris Olympics is the theme this year for a fun-packed series of events beginning Thursday 25th July.
Some fun summer Olympics facts –
- The torch flame is always lit by the sun in Olympia, Greece, as this is where the first Greek Games was held. Then, it’s passed from torch to torch in a massive international relay that ends in the host city – wow! New torches are designed for each Olympics, and several thousand copies are made. It’s a great honour to become a torchbearer, and lots of inspiring people get a turn each time.
- The Olympic rings were first produced in 1913, from a design created by the Games’ modern founder – Baron Pierre de Coubertin! Their five colours (along with the white backdrop) reflect colours found on the flags of all participating nations, so everyone is represented. The overlaps also represent international cooperation, and the coming together of athletes from all over the world – cute!
The children will do a variety of sports, mini games, dance and arts/crafts, all loosely based on the theme.
The age range is 5-11 but younger siblings and children aged 4 can be registered. This link or the QR code below, will take you to the registration form.
This holiday club takes place each Thursday from 10am to 12pm. The cost is £1.50 per person which includes drinks and light fruit/veg snacks and possibly ice lollies!
There is a classic film (rated PG), open to all on the Thursday 8th August starting again at 10am.
There is a party on the 29th August for children who attended at least 2 sessions.
We thank Wellbeing for Life for supporting 2+ of the days events.
