Rainbow Singers on Tour!
On the 6th December, the Rainbow Singers started their tour at Lothian House Spennymoor. We have been going there monthly to teach the residents some of the songs so they could join in.
“O Come all ye Faithful” got off to a good start with a solo from Iris ( a resident from Lothian). Our other soloist ( also a resident) Ken decided he wasn’t coming. After 15 minutes he arrived to cheers and clapping from The Rainbows. Going in on a monthly basis has been a joy on both sides. The residents of Lothian bring us joy and there’s much laughter too. Singing is really good for us all.
Lothian House will be coming back to St Pauls Centre for another tea dance next year. Two community groups coming together and building lasting relationships and memories.
Last week we were with Pathways based in Abbey Road, Pity Me. We had a wonderful time there, and the smiles on the residents faces say it all. Again, many who attend Pathways, cannot express themselves, but in their way make a joyful noise with instruments, their bodies, or voice.
We shall continue with our tour at Willington Care Village and return to Pathways in Spennymoor on 20th December.
