Rainbow Singers Festive Tour

The Rainbow Singers have been busy this year, as they embarked on their festive tour.

They kicked off the tour in Spennymoor Town Centre on Saturday 30th November, for the switch on of the Christmas Lights. It was a great night with lots of entertainment from other artists Spark and Kingdom Culture Church.

“ I am so proud of my Rainbows for agreeing to take part in this year’s light switch on, for many in our group this was the first time they had ever sung outdoors and for them to brave the chilly weather, setting sun and unfamiliar circumstances was such an achievement” Maureen Aspey (Musical Director)

The tour continued with a double header on Wednesday 11th as they visited Lothian House for a morning sing. In the afternoon the tour took them to Redworth House Care Home in Shildon. With a final date on 18th December being able to reconnect with Clarence Court Spennymoor, last visited by the group Christmas 2019. Each concert was filled with joy, singing, laughs from corny Christmas cracker jokes and dancing from first note until the last bell chimed.

“Being a member of the Rainbow Singers give us a wonderful opportunity to visit the local care homes and connect with the residents through singing, which is so beneficial to us all. Visiting the homes strengthens the connections we have with the residents. Bringing a smile to the residents faces and possibly helping them recall a memory or two.” Debbie (Group Member)

Nothing allows this connection more than the collective singing of familiar Christmas carols.

The Rainbow Singers meet every Wednesday 1:30pm in St. Pauls Centre.
