Christmas lunch for thirty people a great success!
Volunteers from the local community helped out on Christmas Eve to prepare for the big day when 30 people came to enjoy a Christmas lunch.
Maureen Aspey, a director at the centre and volunteer on the day, is grateful for all the support shown to make the day a success. The turkey was donated by Hockings Butchers, the meal was cooked courtesy of The Whistling Teapot, and gifts were kindly donated by individuals and businesses for people to take home at the end of the afternoon.
The 3 course meal was:
- Soup
- Turkey and ham, Vegetarian buffet
- Trifle, Christmas cake, Mince pies
Followed by coffee with cheese and biscuits.
Those who attended the Christmas lunch went home with gifts and smiles on their faces, having enjoyed the food, games and laughter.
