Christmas Lunch at the centre

Lunch and fun activities for people of our community that would otherwise spend Christmas day on their own.

Big thanks to Hockings Butchers of Spennymoor who have kindly provided the turkey for the lunch.

Volunteers will be preparing the meal and The Whistling Teapot will be cooking the turkey for free.

The event has been funded by the centre and donations from the local community.

Maureen Aspey, a director at the centre, says “It is a joy to be able to provide lunch on Christmas Day for people who are on their own. We have an enjoyable time together – they may come as strangers, but they leave as friends. To all our volunteers who help with both preparation and serving we say a big thank you.”
